After 30 years of delivering beer, cocktails, food and entertainment, Boundary Bay Brewery will close its doors in September 2025.

“It stems from the beginning,” founding owner Ed Bennett said. “Giving back to the community, you can say it, but you really have to do it, over 30 years [we’ve always asked] ‘how can we help out the community?’”

It was not the owners' decision to close Boundary Bay initially. The property the business is on was leased to the owners and was renewed every five years, though they had planned to eventually own the building.

“We put an offer on the building, it wasn’t accepted, so the owners are putting the building out,” owner Janet Lightner said. “We’ve been doing this a long time, it’s been a labor of love, but it’s time to do some other things.”
